Sounds like a pretty good idea. You'd probably have to put some limits on what people could create character-wise while still allowing them lots of room to be creative.

development a bit. I really want this transcoder present so I can

I've read a lot of Random1377 as well, he's kinda what got me
started in the Eva field. Though after that I took more of a turn
toward generally darker stories. Been enjoying the new crowd of
writers (as infrequent as they are) including Adam Kadmon, Midnight
Cereal, The mustachioed Cat, and sedamichrA. Though admittedly I
haven't read enough to compare them to the "classics".

Went over what you linked too. From what I can tell it (and posted
my understanding in a later post) it SHOULD be relatively simple if
one knows what to pull in. It should also be helpful if it goes
well that many of the needed calls are part of the script API as it
relaes to tagging in file meta data. Correct me if I'm wrong at all
in my understanding.

Seems like we enjoy the same few stories, I think it was Axel's
"Child of Love" and Fiss' "Shinji the Casanova" that actually
started me into Anime. Read a lot of Random1377's stories as well.
I'll have to check out the other stories and suggestions.

are very excited so see what script authors will be able to do with
our new powerful scripting system. As for help with QtScript

Let me try to clear this up for you. (Oh, and the kerneltrap link
isn't to a Theo De Raadt post). Since you don't code, lets say you
wrote a book, and released it under a BSD-like license. Some people
(Microsoft?) printed it without saying where they found it but
since it's printed, it's not something people can easily edit. Some
other people (Apple?) gave it a fancy book cover, printed it, and
hosted the book a site where you can get your own copy to edit.
Then another group came in and put a little note at the top of your
book saying if you add anything to the book you agree to give your
copyright to someone named Linus, and you can't use anything
copyright Linus in any thing but other books copyright by Linus.
The MS and Apple approach don't necessarily make it easy to change
your book, but if someone else finds your book due to the fact they
used it, and fixes or improves something, you are allowed to use
that in your book. However, in the last example in the paragraph
above, if someone finds your work due to Linus and fixes or
improves something, you can't incorporate the improvements into
your original work. Anything added with Linus' copyright can't be
added back to your original book. If Linus is a popular guy and has
a popular website, your book is now basically under the control of
Linus. The issue here is that someone has basically taken something
under one license (the OpenBSD Atheros driver code), and released
it under another license with extremely minor changes. The license
are compatible, so you can _use_ BSD code with GPL'ed code, but the
question here is can you legally (or morally?) _change_ the
copyright license on something you don't own the copyright of? The
legality of this is questionable and it's not surprising a court
might have to decide this. As far as the morality of it goes, it
just seems wrong. Doesn't it?

They didn't sign an actual treaty. For that to happen, the US and
China have to participate in the signing, and Bush said that it
won't happen until the DPRK fully disarms its nuke program. It even
says all this in the article, if you had bothered to read it. The
war isn't officially over. Don't throw a party quite yet.

I agree with your opinon as well LD. For the fact that I bought a
Vista laptop (Acer Aspire 5100) from Best Buy. Here are the
problems I had with Vista: 1) My computer is pretty decent; but,
Vista made it run like a Pentium I running 177 MHz with 5MB of Ram.
(I have the 512 MB ram with the 2.0 GHz AMD Semprion+) 2) It took
forever to load. 3) I put all my music on it and I couldn't listen
to a single song because it kept chopping it up. I ripped a CD to
my HD after I tried to listen to my music and it played fine. 4)
Vista fried the HD after a month. I had to wait 3 weeks for Acer to
send me a new HD, when they told me that Vista had a critical error
that wiped out the Master Boot Record and cause major surface
damage to the drive. Then they still tried to get me to buy a
recovery DVD that contained the VILE Vista program. 5) VISTA is a
ball licker! I want to switch to linux (I had to install XP Home to
keep from voiding my warranty) but I can't seem to find the right
version for me. I'm just an everyday computer user, I write my
fanfics on here watch my DVD's burn DVDs with my dual layer burner.
But I can't find linux drivers for my hardware and I'm not a
programmer. If anyone has some suggestions please let me know!

I believe it's correct to point to a blogger any possible error
(conceptual or spelling)...but hey, did you add anything
new/interesting in this discussion with your critcs for bad
spelling? I believe the correct answer is "NO, DAMN!" So please,
just don't try to minimize the opinion of a fellow memeber of the
Web only for his spelling...we aren't all natural-born English (I
am not)

I absolutely agree with your opinion. People depend on information
technologies more and more. Someone who will be in control of
information technologies will be in control of society. If you
don't have source code there is no way to find out what happens in
your system. I have nothing against commercial software in general.
But if you sell your programs please sell source code, not the
binaries. Personally, I use only open source software in my system
and recommend to do the same.

I concur. You really need to proof read. There are spelling
mistakes, weird sentece phrasing and some senteces make no sense at
all. Some times you capitalize Vista, Aero and Linux, other times
you don't. Blu-Ray should be capitalized. This sentence; "To start,
if you are concidering Vista and haven’t read this article by Peter
Guttman on the DRM built into Vista." Should be something like; "To
start, if you are considering Vista you should read this article by
Peter Guttman on the DRM built into Vista." And the link needs to
be fixed caused it's 404.

Because the stylistic look between GTK and QT apps can have a bit
of an impact. QT programs are going to look more at home in KDE
because they use the QT toolkit. Same goes for GTK and Gnome. Of
course in gentoo if you emerge gtk-engines-qt and apply that to
your gtk+ apps using gtk-chtheme then you don't notice a real
difference visually. Of course you can't control those apps the
same way you can KDE native apps, say if you have the screen setup
in a mac style. Personally I always say use what gets the job done.

I'm still confused as to why people like to associate the KDE
desktop with KDE apps. People seem to get hung up about using all
KDE apps if they are using KDE and all Gnome apps if they are using
Gnome.
